Preston
Samuel Preston is a musician best known for being the frontman of his band “The Ordinary Boys”. He is currently published as a songwriter and producer through B-Unique records and Metrophonic publishing. He has written songs for Olly Murrs (including his number 1 single ‘Heart Just Skips A Beat’) ,The Saturdays and Mercury/Universal’s latest signing, Rachel Furner amongst others and, through his production company DeadBeats, has produced various dance/electro projects. As an Ordinary Boy Preston enjoyed four top-ten singles, had a number 1 album in Japan, supported the Who and Morrissey, had sold-out head-line tours and generally had a marvellous time! He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother… twice (finishing 6th in the Ultimate Housemate)! ... which led on to TV appearances, including presenting Top of the Pops. Preston travelled to Benin to present an hour-long Channel 4 documentary on the voodoo religion, he also wrote a column for Attitude magazine entitled ‘Straight Eye for the Queer guy’ and religiously updates his own personal BlogSpot. He threatens one day to release his as yet unfinished debut novel. His grandfather is writer Samuel Hynes, Emeritus Professor of English at Princeton University and his brother is writer Alex Preston, published by Faber. In his spare time Preston DJ’s. He lives in Brighton with Battlecat, his three-year-old Bengal. The Ordinary Boys have announced they are set to reform for a string of dates towards the end of 2011.
