Tobias Mead
Tobias Mead (23) from Warminster, Wiltshire, trained in acting and dancing at the Stella Mann School in Bedford. He appeared as a contestant on Living's hit series 'Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life' in 2007 where he danced with the show's host Kelly Brook, who said 'Tobias had this real kind of sexy, passionate energy; I really enjoyed dancing with him'.
in 2009 Tobias performed to packed out stadiums as a dancer on the biggest pop tour of the year, 'Take That's Circus Tour'. He was also selected to work with Michael Jackson's choreographer Jeffrey Daniels on a Uniqlo TV ad campaign in Asia. Late 2009 saw Tobias joining the team dancers of the Nolan Sisters comeback arena tour. In her Daily Mirror column Coleen Nolan said of him: 'He was the cheeky one. He stood out as a dancer and as a personality."
In 2010 Tobias auditioned for ITV1's smash hit series Britain's Got Talent performing his 'Back to Front' routine. He received great acclaim from the judges, a standing ovation from the audience and became the "most You Tubed" contestant of the series (The Sun, 14th May 2010).
His unique dance style combining an interest in illusion, magic and the supernatural has inspired many. Since his Britain's Got Talent audition, thousands of YouTube imitators from all over the world have posted their own home made versions of his back to front style on the site.
June 2010 saw Tobias reach the Britain's Got Talent Final, performing live to 15.4 million TV viewers. Of his final routine, Piers Morgan said "You're a showman...the best dancer in this competition".
Simon Cowell added "Every so often, someone comes along who is just brilliant and I think we'll remember you".
Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am also told The Sun newspaper (4th June 2010) "I have seen the You Tube clip of Tobias Mead and the guy was sensational. There are a lot of great dancers out there but that was original and he has done something I had never seen before... The guy is a genius, I would be happy to work with him... I like giving a chance to guys who are passionate and talented and he is both of those things."
Summer 2010 saw Tobias tour the UK once again, playing packed out arenas as part of the Britain's Got Talent Live Tour 2010. He continues to dance and choreograph for other artists and as a solo performer, gigs around the UK and Ireland at music festivals, street dance events, corporate and private functions. Following his success as headline act and spokesperson for the Disney Camp Rock 2 Pass it On UK Tour (Aug/Sept 2010) Tobias is signed to Disney's celebrity mentor scheme for 2011.
Tobias appears in Step Up The Official Dance Workout (Universal) which is HMV's current bestselling fitness DVD (Daily Mail, 4th January 2011, Daily Star 5th January 2011) and five star rated by Heat Magazine (29th December 2010) who stated "Tobias Mead isn't featured enough for our liking".
