Georgie Okell is a personal trainer, ultra-runner, broadcaster, writer and mental health advocate.
Hailing from Chester, Georgie studied International Relations and French at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Whilst there she balanced her coursework with hosting her own show on St. Andrews Radio, a new music show for which she won an award in her final year.
After graduating Georgie moved to London where she was approached to screen test for Channel 4’s youth strand T4 in 2010. She quickly became an established and popular member of the weekend T4 presenting team. For Channel 4 Georgie also hosted the music breakfast series, Freshly Squeezed and fronted youth campaigning series Battlefront. She co-presented programming around the Mercury Music Prize, NME Music Awards and Cannes Film Festival. In 2013 Georgie co-devised, co-hosted and co-produced the first ever live online talk show series in the UK The Fox Problem.
Georgie lived in the States between 2013 and 2016. In New York she hosted a weekly new music show titled Pop Goes the Future on the iconic East Village Radio and for the US Fuse TV network became host of their nightly music news programme Fuse News in January 2014. Moving to LA in 2015, Georgie worked for the global app Headspace to create and host their podcast, Radio Headspace.
On moving back to the UK in 2016, Georgie retrained as a personal trainer and in 2017 presented for BBC2’s legendary Ski Sunday. A regular marathon runner, having completed the London and New York marathons amongst others, Georgie is also an ultra-runner. She ran the 2019 Race To The Tower double marathon and finished impressively as 8thfastest female. She is a competitive skier and also took part in her first boxing bout in 2017.
