Lauren’s bright and funny personality combined with a journalistic background has quickly made her one of CBBC’s favourite presenters.
A key face on the channel since 2014, Lauren presents live television on CBBC on weekday afternoons.
She is their resident music expert, presenting ‘The Playlist’ where she interviews the biggest names in pop including the likes of Craig David, The Vamps, Ella Eyre, Pixie Lott, Jonas Blue & Sigma. You may have also seen Lauren hosting backstage at the ‘Radio 1 Teen Awards’ and the ‘BBC Music Awards’.
She fronts the award-winning design show ‘The Dengineers’ previously alongside Mark Wright & now Joe Tracini. The hugely popular programme won the 2016 RTS North West Award for ‘Best Factual Entertainment’ and was nominated for ‘Best Entertainment’ at the 2016 Children’s BAFTA’s.
Lauren also presents on both ‘Match of the Day’ on BBC One and its spin-off ‘MOTD Kickabout’. She has hosted for the Premier League and is a Manchester City fan. Before becoming a TV presenter, Lauren worked in radio as a broadcast journalist, covering local and national headline stories; from interrogating the Prime Minister to wearing a stab vest on a 4am police raid.
Since 2018, Lauren regularly hosted on Capital FM and from January 2019 she took over the reigns of Capital’s Early Breakfast show, live from 4am to 6am weekdays.
She is also the host of Gfinity’s Elite Series FIFA 19. She has worked with O2 and the NSPCC on a campaign to protect the online safety of children and has worked closely with BAFTA throughout the year.
You’ll also hear her frequently providing voiceover for the CBBC channel and guest presenting on a number of other CBBC shows, including ‘All Over The Place’, which she recently filmed in India. Lauren has appeared on BBC1’s ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ and both ‘Children in Need’ and ‘Sports Relief’ films. She also writes for ‘Top of The Pops Magazine’.
Lauren, who is British Guyanese, works closely with ActionAid who support women and girls around the world. She is also an ambassador for mental health charity Young Minds.
